Things To Do in Sydney

Paddington Reservoir Gardens
Paddington Reservoir Gardens

This sunken garden is one of Sydney's best kept secrets. Padding Reservoir was once the host of the city's water supply before a more efficient system arrived in 1899. The unused reservoir has been transformed into a stunning garden and is the perfect place to unwind in a tranquil city haven. Spend some time exploring the gardens before strolling through the nearby shopping strip of Oxford Street.

Observatory Hill
Observatory Hill

In Sydney, there are many amazing spots to get a great view of the harbour, but Observatory Hill takes the cake. A short 10-minute walk from Circular Quay, this hill offers an incredible view, off the beaten track. If you're a lover of astronomy, you will be pleased to see Sydney Observatory that sits on top of the hill. The historic building houses a museum that is free to enter, and offers guided tours for a small price.

Tamarama
Tamarama

Bondi Beach is the most famous strip of sand in Australia, and well known around the world. If you walk around the southern headland of Bondi, you will find the equally incredible beach of Tamarama – with a small but perfectly formed semi-circle of bright white sand. If you're looking to find the best beach spots in Sydney, check out a full list here.

Bronte Baths
Bronte Baths

During the hot summers in Sydney nothing quite beats a free public swimming pool, especially one of the most unique ocean pools in Australia. Bronte Beach is one of the best in Sydney, and unlike its neighbour Bondi, it is hidden away from the crowds. The historic baths opened in 1887 and have been a favourite for locals ever since. After your refreshing dip, take in the incredible scenery on the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk.

Morton National Park
Morton National Park

A visit to Morton National Park will surround you in remote wilderness, steep gorges, striking waterfalls and an abundance of epic walking tracks. Just a stone's throw away from Sydney, this wilderness and bushwalking mecca is home to the iconic Fitzroy Falls, not a spot to miss off your itinerary.

Royal National Park
Royal National Park

The Royal National Park is Australia's oldest, and the world's second oldest, national park. From pristine beaches, striking rainforests Aboriginal sites and an abundance of wildlife – Royal National Park will transport you to a sanctuary teeming with natural beauty.

Blue Mountains National Park
Blue Mountains National Park

Head to the Blue Mountains and marvel at the Three Sisters rock formation from Echo Point lookout in Katoomba. Here you will find the gateway to many of the walking trails in this national park. The Blue Mountains get their name from the natural blue haze that is created by eucalyptus forests. This wilderness region is a must-see destination on any Sydney road trip.

Sunny Sydney is the perfect gateway to begin your adventure in New South Wales. We recommend taking some time to explore this incredible city before embarking on your journey throughout the state. Packed with camping and caravan parks, NSW makes it easy to spend each night of your trip waking up to a new scene of nature.
