When you’re thinking of romantic ideas, a night out here is a no-brainer. Their menu is crafted using local produce and is designed to be shared, making it all the more romantic.
Alchemy
A night out at Alchemy is sure to impress your date and will be a unique dining experience to remember. Situated on the picturesque Brisbane river, the restaurant gives off a relaxed yet elegant feel, perfectly paired with incredible food and great water views.
Set up a picnic in the park
A picnic in the park is another great date idea. The beauty of picnics is that not only are they more cost effective, but you can do it on your own time, they tend to be more relaxed, and you can enjoy the outdoors with food you’ve selected. You can go ultra-gourmet or keep it simple, and you can then enjoy a stroll around the park to top off the romantic date.
New Farm Park
New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s oldest and largest parks and is a perfect spot for a romantic picnic date. With a blooming rose garden, plenty of shade and lovely walking paths, this will be a great way to impress your date. You can arrive via the water on the CityCat, by car or by bus, and once here you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to set up your picnic.

Brisbane Botanic Gardens
Set on the glorious Brisbane River are the beautiful Botanic Gardens. With ornamental ponds, stunning gardens like Bamboo Grove and Weeping Fig Avenue, as well as great picnic spots, it’s no surprise this park made it to our list. Take a date here, explore the gardens and wander over to the nearby shops for an ice cream afterwards… sounds pretty romantic to us!
Enjoy a serene country escape in Boonah
If you feel like getting out of the city during your romantic getaway, then we highly recommend visiting the town of Boonah. Located on the Scenic Rim, just 1.5hours out of the city, this country escape invites you to relax and unwind. While here you can enjoy stand-up paddle boarding, fishing or swimming together in the picturesque lake, or go for a hike through the Main Range National Park. The national park has some great walks to take, as well as spectacular scenery to enjoy. After all of these activities, you will probably need to refuel and the town of Boonah won’t disappoint. There are great cafes, eateries and restaurants to choose from, many using local produce within their dishes. Then after a day of exploring, we recommend booking into the Boonah Caravan Park. With modern amenities, beautiful grassy sites and affordable rates, this is sure to be a great country stay for you and your date.

Stargaze together at the Planetarium
Just saying the word stargaze brings a sense of romance, so obviously stargazing at the Planetarium is a must-add to our romantic things to do in Brisbane list! The Planetarium has fascinating displays to marvel at, including their Observatory, Cosmic Skydome and Display Zone. Entry into the Planetarium is free, charges apply for Cosmic Skydome shows.
